There are something very special in Choi’s abstract paintings. As we can see in his ‘A woman in the Room’, he transfused personal privacy and gracefulness of a woman into the nude. Women in his work are usually very virtuous even though expressive women appear from time to time. We can see them radiating unusual colors like light green in mysterious atmosphere.

최예태 작가의 구상 작품들 속에는 뭔가 다른 특별한 것이 있다. '실내의 여인'에서 볼 수 있는 것처럼 그의 구성은 영혼의 평화의 몽상을 가진 아주 개인적인 은밀함을 여인들의 우아함과 누드화에 옮겨놓았기 때문이다. 표현력 있는 여인들을 다룬 작품도 있지만 자주 등장하는 여인들은 사뭇 정숙하다. 하지만 그녀들은 보기 드문 색채와 마치 한국의 연한 초록빛을 발산하는 듯한 아주 신비로운 분위기를 자아내고 있다.

It is my great pleasure to get to know the great artist like Choi. I am really impressed with artistic scale, passion and poetic sensitivity of his works as well as with his unique and special inspiration.

서양화가 최예태(최예태 작가,최예태 화백,CHOI YE TAE,ARTIST CHOI YE TAE,崔禮泰)처럼 뛰어난 화가를 알게 된 것이 나에겐 여간 큰 기쁨이 아닐 수 없다. 또 그림 그리는 스케일을 떠나서라도 열정과 시적 감각의 행복한 연결인 그의 작품 세계에서, 나는 특별하고도 분명한 그만의 신선함 영감에 크게 감동해 마지않는 바이다.
