〔나의 작품을 말하다〕입, 망각된 자아의 내면과 표정의 상징성

Image is the everyday expressions that we come into contact with, something common and familiar faces. But these normal images are interpreted into other images by the artist.

이미지는 우리 주변에 존재하는 아주 일상적이며 익명적인 얼굴 표정들이다. 그러나 이러한 일상적인 얼굴들이 필자에게는 또 다른 사실의 이미지로 재해석되어진다.

Without being concerned with a certain person’s expression, feelings, images, the artist takes a person’s facial expression randomly. In fact, the shape of the face itself bears no significance to the work. What really matters is the facial expression and the fine movement, the change of focus in the eyes, and in particular, the changes shown around the mouth;the work emphasizes variabilityand tries to convey unexpectedness.

주제는 어느 특정인의 표정이나 감정, 모습에 국한되지 않는 사람의 얼굴표정이라는 형체를 무작위로 채취한다. 사실상 작품 이미지에서 얼굴형상 의미는 별로 중요하지 않으며 그 보다는 표정과 움직임 또 그것에 따른 시각의 변화 특히 입 표정 변화에 따르는 가변성을 강조하고 의외성을 강하게 나타내고자 한다.

These characteristics are distinctively captured and then I try to show our inner self through facial expressions, especially through the mouth. On the other hand, my work is that of romance. Through these mouth images, I try to show the real attractiveness by recreating the lost modern citizen’s image. I set a new light on the point of view on modern age-dwellers by unique visual images and I try to draw out our consciousness and lead it to the horizon.

이러한 특징들을 명확하게 포착하여 사람의 내면을 입 표정을 통해 이미지로 표현하고자 한다. 그러나 한편으로, 나의 작업은 낭만적이다. 이를테면 입을 통해 현대도시인의 망각된 이미지를 예술적으로 부각시켜 사실적인 매력을 보여주려고 한다. 그것은 현대문명을 살아가는 인간의 입 표정을 시각적 독창성으로 조명함과 동시에 의식의 지평을 이끌어 내고자 하는 것과 다름 아니다.

◇ Artist Songsong

The artist is working by the name of Songsong. Her real name is Song Min-sun and she has graduated high school from Korea, went to Japan and studied there. She graduated Kyoto Seika Collage of Arts in 2006, and graduated Nara Nationalinstitute of Education in 2009. She held personal exhibitions 6 times in Japan in venues such as Gallery Seika (Ginza, Tokyo) and in Key (central Tokyo). She came back to Korea in 2009 and held a personal exhibition in “2012MANIF (Seoul Arts Center, Hangaram Art Museum).”

◇화가 송송(Songsong)

작가는 송송이라는 화명(畵名)으로 활동하고 있다. 본명은 송민선(宋敏先)으로 서울에서 고교를 마치고 일본으로 유학하여 2006년 일본 교토세이카예술대학 및 2009년 나라국립교육대학원을 졸업했다. Gallery새이까(도쿄도 긴자), Gallery　Key(도쿄도중앙구) 등 일본에서 개인전을 6회와 2009년 한국에 귀국하여 ‘2012MANIF(예술의전당한가람미술관)’부스개인전을 가졌다.
