Mother-of-pearl and crystal are the main materials used when Jeong Hyunsook creates her works of art. She has been absorbing in these materials for more than 10 years. She has sticked pieces of mother-of-pearl and crystal, a kind of objets, on her canvas in stead of using brushes and colors.

This work requires very hard repetitive movements and the long mental tension state should be kept. So the world created by Jeong Hyunsook the world of order which appears while very small units gather and become uniform arrays.

Order requires some principles and forms (法式). In case of Jeong Hyunsook, the principles and forms become all her own way of production. Jeong Hyunsook's way of production was invented by herself, become the special things, and is her knowhow and at the same time, her advantages.

And they show the aspect that postmodern circular character, in other words, 'modern' seemed to go back to premodern in postmodern in that mother-of-pearl and crystal belong to the realm of everyday life like everyday things.
