Hur Jin: Repressed Deviation is the sixth exhibition of Sungkok Art Museum’s project series of shedding light on Korea’s leading artists of today.

It follows the previous exhibitions Kim Dong Yoo: Figure 2 Figure, Kim Young Hun: Electronic Nostalgia, Broken Dream, Park Hwa Young: C.U.B.A in 2010, SHON Jeung-Eun: The Unnamable Scenery, and CHA Jong-Rye: Return To Limitless in 2011.

The exhibition may provide a priceless opportunity to witness the artist’s intellectual progress on the symbiotic relationship between Mankind and Mother Nature, a theme that Hur has been preoccupied with for past 20 years.

As Hur(ARTIST HUR JIN,許塡,허진 작가,한국화가 허진,HUR JIN,허진 교수,허진 화백,A Painter HUR JIN)penetratingly revealed and criticized various contradictions of the society through his artworks, he received an intense attention in the late 1980s. Since then for last 20 years, his steady efforts to illustrate from an ecological point of view have initiated the artwork series‘Nomadic Human Animals.’

Another series of his artworks called‘The Anonymous Man’reflects his persistent examination of desolated inner minds that rootless individuals might encounter in the civilized world.
