-I remember you mentioned novelist JUNG HEE OH sometime before. Would you say that you have empathy with her belief on the roles of the female artist?

Madame Oh is about my age, and although we have different majors, same art college. Because she was able to publish her works quite early in her age, I was able to hear a lot about her works, and I was even able purchase and read some of them.

One day, I read one of her essays, and I felt a deep connection with her. It was we went to the written about a time when Madame. Oh was getting ready to move into a new home.

She had everything packed and was ready to move out, but due to unforeseen circumstances, she had to temporarily extend her stay in her old house. She was enjoying their new situation of having everything packed in boxes, and scattering around looking for things whenever they getting stressed out of her mind because she troubled because the rest of her family was enjoying their new situation of having everything packed in boxes, and scattering around looking for things whenever they needed them.

On the other hand, she was getting stressed out of her mind because she had to worry about setting up dinner with all the utensils and dishes out of place. On the top of it, her publisher kept calling her and asking to finish her book by the deadline.

None of her family seemed to understand what the difficulty she was going through. This type of situation is probably common with female artists that are around the same age as me. The problems that female artists are confronted with, the choices they must make between art, and their roles as the traditional housewife, are all huge concerns that we are faced on a constant basis.

When I read her essay, I became strengthened with the actualization that I was not alone in my endeavors, and that there were other artists like myself who were suffering the same difficulty.

-You two work on different fields, but your works are similar in terms of conciseness and persistence, so there is a definite connection between your artworks. Have you met her in person yet?

I'm sure there were times we must have passed right by each other without being aware, however, my daughter who is also an artist, told me that she had introduced herself to Mrs. OH before. As for myself, I hope to meet her whenever it is possible and I wish to thank her for giving me the strength during a time of difficulty.

- Both you and Mrs. OH have extroverted personalities, and after Mrs. OH moved to Gangwondoh during the end of the 1980s it made it much more difficult for her to participate in aesthetic art exhibits like in her past. I'm sure the opportunity for you to meet with Mrs. OH will present itself soon. I will try to set up the meeting.

Thank you. KOREA PAPER ARTIST SONG SOO RYUN, KOREAN PAPER ARTIST SONG SOO RYUN)hope you can manage to work it out.
