Having graduated university I worked as an designer at LG AD. Co. Working at the company was fascinating and enjoyed. Furthermore I was so interested in calligraphy and had an instruction from the prominent Prof. Il Joong for more than ten years From 1990 on I concentrated on western paintings and in 1993 I had my first solo exhibition. The exhibition was so popular that I was accordingly exalted myself. I soon went France to study and air the modern art that I dreamed of.
나는 대학교 졸업 후 지금 LG애드인 금성사에 입사하여 광고디자이너로도 일했으며 결혼 이후에는 서예에 심취하여 일중 김충현 선생님을 사사하기도 했다. 1990년부터 회화의 길로 들어서게 되어 여기 까지 오게 되었다. 1993년 개최한 첫 유화개인전은 정말 인기가 좋았다. 그에 힘입어 꿈에도 그리던 파리 행 비행기에 올랐다. 파리에서는 하루하루가 즐겁고 신나는 생활의 연속이었다.

Day after day life in Paris was enthralling and attending seminars at Pompidou Museum were so enchanting. At Paris Granshowmir sketching the nudes were fruitful days in Paris. The solo exhibition of Paris Granshowmir works were shown at ChosunIlbo Exhibition Hall in 1996.
책에서만 보던 명작들을 직접 대하니 황홀하기 만했다. 퐁피드 미술관에 가는 것이 가장 즐거운 시간이었고 그랑쇼미에르에서의 누두 스케치 생활 또한 더 없는 시간 이였다. 그랑쇼미에르의 수련과 파리에서의 2년 남직한 생활의 산물인 작품들을 정리하여 1996년에는 조선일보미술관에서 개인전을 열었다.
My works are mostly originated from paintings and calligraphy of early years, study of grafted arts at the University and graphic design at the business company.
나의 작품들은 나의 유년시절의 그림을 비롯한 서예생활과 대학에서의 응용미술공부 그리고 사회생활에서의 그래픽 디자인 활동을 비롯한 경험을 쌓은 것들로부터 나온 산물들이다. 특별한 경향을 따르지 않는 작품들을 하게 된 자연스런 동기인 것이다.

My firm philosophy of art is based on my spirit and creativity. Milk should be poured from the milk bottles. Juice is from juice packs. Further wine should be from wine bottles. Consequently I believe my paintings are from myself indeed. In advance drawing the painting I prayed to brand myself first. So I believed I should make things with my personality.
작품 활동을 하면서 나에게는 몇 가지의 소신과 지론을 갖게 되었다. ‘손문자 작가의 작품’은 나의 개성과 독창성이 있어야 한다는 것과 우유 통에서는 우유가, 주스 팩에서는 주스가, 와인 병에선 와인이 나오니 내 속에선 내가 나올 것 이라는 신념이다. 그러기에 어떤 그림을 그릴까에 앞서 나 자신을 먼저 만드는데 기도하고 힘썼다. 그러면 자연히 개성과 독창성이 있는 작품이 나올 것이라 믿고 있다.
