Here, English title, Affectionate Things, ignite out special concerns and interests. The title, when quote from his Note, was not only an alternative of his questions, "what should I paint?", but also a symbol of his existence. The two facts can be understood from his Note:

‘애정이 깃들어 있는 것들’이라는 영어 명제가 여기서 특별히 관심을 자극한다. 이 명제는, 박동윤 작가의 ‘작업노트’를 빌리자면, 그 자신의 표제의식으로서 무엇을 그릴 것인가에 대한 대안일 뿐만 아니라, 자신의 존재를 함의하는 면면을 동시에 담고 있다. 그의 ‘노트’는 이점에 대해서 다음 두 가지 사실을 전해준다.

ⅰ) When I was a undergraduate student, I had worried about what to express. In the graduate school course, I produced the work which was rubbed with the power of black iron on a canvas. It was the time when I was affectioned and captivated by the quality of material. Later, when I started to execute engravings or paints, I was concerned about a symbolic characteristic of the arrow when treated it on the board. An arrow has a significant symbolic quality in that it can link the past with the present and even with the future. I was interested in linking time and space.

ⅰ)서양화가 박동윤은 대학 시절 무엇을 그려야 할지에 대해 한참 고민한 적이 있었다. 대학원에 다니면서는 흑연가루를 문질러서 캔버스에 칠하고 철판을 접합시키는 작업을 했다. 물질성에 무척 매료되었던 시절이었다. 그 후 판화를 시작할 무렵, 나무판 위에 떠있는 화살을 다루다가 화살의 강한 상징성은 물론, 과거로부터 현재로, 그리고 미래로 시공간을 연결하는데 관심을 갖게 되었다.

ⅱ) Although I cannot remember the whole things as I read it for so long time ago, there should be common things remained. The one thing is, a special quality of lofty pride in which one's self ago is firmly situated. This loftiness is an expression of one's existence of clear soul. The other things is a subtle clearness and refreshment like a figure of Little Prince in ultramarine background, as if escaped from contaminated human environment.

ⅱ) 오래전에 읽어서인지 기억이 별로 없지만, 공통된 여운으로 남아 있는 게 있다. 그러한 여운의 하나는 자기중심이 서 있고 자신만의 세계를 보여 주는 특별한 고고함이다. 고고함은 티 없이 맑은 자아의 존재표현이라고 할 수 있다. 다른 여운의 하나는 울트라마린을 배경으로 비상하는 천진한 생 땍쥐베리의 어린 왕자의 모습 같은 이를테면, 오염된 인간과 자연으로부터 비상 탈출하는 듯한 청결하고 상쾌하게 느껴지는 묘한 깨끗함이다.
